Concept

Dynamic warm-up

A gradual preparation that uses easy movement to raise readiness before running.

What it includes

Brisk walking, easy jogging, and comfortable movements for the hips, ankles, and trunk can bridge the gap between rest and running.

Why it is gradual

The objective is to increase temperature, movement range, and coordination without creating fatigue before the session begins.

How much is enough

For an easy beginner run, a short progressive sequence is usually more useful than an elaborate routine. Harder sessions may need more specific preparation.

How to use it

Start with several minutes of brisk walking, then add comfortable movements that resemble the demands of the planned run.

Common misconception

A warm-up does not need to be painful, exhausting, or dominated by long static stretches to be useful.
